I am a research and teaching fellow at Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics where I am also affiliated with the Instutute for Theory and Computation.
My primary research focuses on compact objects; mainly neutron star, pulsars, supernova remnants and related phenomena. I develop Bayesian statistical methods and use them in conjunction with stellar population synthesis modules to constrain bulk properties of the neutron star population.
I use multiwavelength pulsar observations to probe diverse aspects of their evolution. Recently, I have been interested in developing alternative time-series analysis techniques, particularly tailored for detecting very faint periodic fluctuations in astronomical data.
I am also a member of the Fermi-LAT (formerly GLAST) collaboration. The very high energy (γ-ray) emission from pulsars will hopefully help us finally understand the pulsar emission mechanism; a more than 40 year old jigsaw puzzle.
